
Jennifer has always wanted to be a multitasking star. When she was young Jennifer was a fan of many different musical styles, mostly Afro-Caribbean musics such as salsa, merengue and Bachata. She also loved mainstream music, like hip-hop , and R&B. She loved music but was also fascinated by movie industry. West Side Story, a musical written by Rita Moreno (1961), was the most influential film for her. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer as well as being an entertainer and a Catholic schoolgirl, attended 8 years of Holy Family Catholic elementary school located in The Bronx. After a 4 year period, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls preparatory school. Jennifer excelled in athletics at school and participated in tennis and track and field. When she was in Castle Hill, she spent her early years in a two-story house. Jennifer was forced to leave her house at age was 18 and moved in with her parents. Lopez worked as a lawyer in that time and took lessons at night.
